Angels, Ancestral Lands, and the Call I Couldn’t Ignore
Angelic channel and alchemist Alexandra Wenman says we are moving from separation back into oneness
Alexandra Wenman, wise woman, is devoted to normalizing conversations about spirituality and awakening. She takes a down-to-earth approach to connecting to angels, guides, and higher wisdom, helping others to access their Akashic records, understand their soul path, and awaken their innate spiritual gifts.
Describe the moment when you decided you were ready to commit to this path.
I don’t think I have ever been truly ready — I would describe it more like I didn’t have a choice. That’s why I have always called myself a reluctant channel, because I tried so hard to fit into so-called “normal life” and not be weird, but that life I was trying to craft for myself just became more and more uncomfortable until I took the leap and began to put myself out there more.
There have been so many moments and pivotal points where the universe has taken the proverbial rug out from under me — usually when I have gotten too comfortable and needed a push to accelerate my mission or change my life in some way, but always the rewards have eventually come.
I suppose the first big, obvious push from spirit to fully commit was when my soul guided me to move from Australia to the UK at just 22 years old. It was a huge leap of faith and not an easy process at all. But as soon as I arrived on what are my ancestral lands, my psychic abilities sprang open in a way I couldn’t ignore.
A few years later, I was gifted almost £1,000 worth of training courses by a teacher who saw my potential. And then a good few years after that, the spiritual magazine I was running folded and the universe called me to step into my healing work full-time.
Spiritual growth spurts are not always fun, but when we let go and trust the universe, magic unfolds in the most miraculous of ways. I always ask to be put where I am needed most, and there have been so many incredible experiences where I have been in the right place at the right time and able to help another, or the Earth herself.
Every time I am called on a mission for the planet, it’s another test of faith and a chance to re-commit to this path. I will often dream of a place or be asked in meditation if I will journey somewhere. At times, I haven’t had anywhere near the amount of money needed to get to the place, but whenever I hand it back to the divine and say, “Yes, I will go, but you have to get me there,” miracles unfold.
If you’re at a dinner party, how do you describe what you do and why it matters?
At dinner parties and social events, I have to read the room and gauge my audience. Not everyone is open to — or able to understand — what I do, so it all depends on the context of the conversation. Something I decided a long time ago is that I am not here to prove anything to anyone, but if people are genuinely interested, I love talking about what I do. It’s my favourite topic of conversation to dive deeply into the realms of the mystical.
I usually describe myself as an alchemist and channel rather than a healer, and that seems to intrigue people. Then when I tell them I am an author who writes books and teaches courses about the scientific and mathematical evidence for the existence of angels and life beyond the physical, they usually want to know more.
When I first started talking about my abilities more publicly, I lost a lot of friends and had to face ridicule, but that was 20 years ago and the world has changed a lot since then. Spirituality has become cool — even the celebs are talking about it — and most people understand the concept of multidimensionality these days, which shows how far we have evolved in such a short space of time.
When I talk to people about how angels are part of our own consciousness, it helps them to feel more empowered and also makes the subject matter more accessible — even to the most logically minded.
What are the essential things you’d like people to understand about your work and your mission?
I would love people to understand that they are powerful and they have all the resources within them to deal with any situation they are growing through. Although sometimes it literally feels like we are being squeezed through the end of a garden hose, my job is to help people remember that those tough moments are literally the universe reshaping us into who we are meant to be.
We are equally becoming more of our true selves and un-becoming who we have believed ourselves to be, individually and collectively. We have to remember that we are not small and insignificant. We are high-frequency divine beings having an experience of a denser reality.
And we do have the power to reshape our world for the better. I embody everything I teach and write about. A great deal of what I teach is about how to integrate this work into daily, waking life.
My guidance has always been to not dumb down or simplify my language because my role is to help people stretch their consciousness and be curious about what lies beyond the rational, logical and practical, to explore the as-yet unknown.
Eventually, when we understand a greater spiritual concept, the unknown becomes part of the known and then also belongs to the realms of the rational, logical, and practical. This is what en-“light”-enment is – we are shedding more light on things and tapping into vaster and vaster fields of knowledge and intelligence.
I love to help people tap more easily into their own higher mind, so they can access these fields of intelligence for themselves and learn the tools they require to reshape their world for the better — and for the good of us all.
What do people in your life, your family and friends, think about what you’re doing?
I am very blessed to have incredibly supportive family and friends in my life, who honor my right to follow my own guidance. But it wasn’t always the case. When you first start “waking up” and following your heart and your truth over and above all other guidance, people can think you are either rebelling or going mad.
I was called many things by people I thought were close friends — “Wacky Wenman” is still one of my favorites — but it’s easy to forgive those people and their actions when you realize that most people are only reacting that way due to their own fears. The ego does not like the boat to be rocked. But if things stay the same all the time, how do we ever grow and change for the better?
Many things that happen to us in daily life also act as a handy mirror for our own evolution. I soon understood that my own fear of being seen was being mirrored back at me in the people around me. The more I learned to love and accept myself for who I am, the more I was loved and accepted.
Sometimes, self-love can feel like the hardest path, especially when people are moved out of your life or when you are being asked to be your own cheerleader in the face of resistance from those you love. As humans, we can often test our relationships as well.
This path will soon sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to knowing who your true friends and loved ones are. Sometimes the people who challenge us the most are the closest members of our soul family. I come from a very headstrong lineage — we don’t always see eye-to-eye, but we love each other without conditions, and that means the world to me.
My husband is a different character to me as well. He is a very grounded Capricorn who works in recruitment, but we complement each other. Where I am Libra Air and love spending my time in the ethers, he is my rock who helps keep my feet on the ground.
It was interesting explaining to my now-husband that I needed to be in Egypt for an important cosmic moment in 2012, or at the top of a mountain in Peru on our first wedding anniversary. Luckily, he loves travel and is often called along with me, which was handy on our honeymoon in 2015 when we got stuck on Easter Island during a flight strike until I remembered I had work to do there and the strike lifted as soon as it was done. It’s certainly always an adventure.
How does your work change people’s perceptions?
I have no idea. Maybe pushing their buttons enough times helps crack them open! Jokes aside, I feel it’s more about living by example. It doesn’t really matter how you frame it; if you walk your talk and live in alignment with your soul, eventually people start to notice. Some will be inspired and some will be triggered by your example. It’s like Marmite — you will never be for everyone. But for those who resonate with what I am here to teach and share, I just hope I am helping even in some small way. I like to think that by saying “Yes” to my soul, I am giving others permission to say “Yes” to theirs.
What are the differences between how you and how most other people look at the world?
I have always seen the world as an extension of myself and vice versa. Since I was a small child, I could feel and communicate with nature and spirit, and I had an innate knowing that everything was part of a oneness. We exist in a living universe that responds to us. That’s not to say that I don’t sometimes get caught up in my own humanness and overthinking. We all need reminders from time to time. However, I believe most people share openly in that oneness as children — before the system trains it out of us. My role is merely as a doorway to help people remember who they truly are, if they choose to walk through the door.
When does your path bring you the most comfort?
It brings me incredible comfort when I receive feedback from clients, students, and readers who tell me my work has helped them or changed their life for the better in some way. I often have new clients just from word of mouth and recommendations, and that is always the best way to gauge that I must be doing something right.
In recent years, I have won awards for my business, books, and oracle cards and, while I don’t do this work to win awards, it’s wonderful to know that my work is getting out there, making a difference and inspiring others.
I am also very blessed to be connected to amazing people who have also been brave enough to step into their calling. It’s so comforting when you are truly seen and loved unconditionally for who you are.
What feels most alive for me now is supporting people as the divine becomes less of a concept and more of a lived reality — something natural, grounded, and woven into everyday life. That’s why I use the tagline: “Divine Is The New Normal.” I do not feel we are becoming super-human. I feel we are becoming more of who we are really meant to be and that brings me extreme comfort.
When does it challenge you the most?
There are times when spirit will step back and let you work something out for yourself to help you grow. I have had more of those moments than I’d like to count, but it has stretched me beyond what I thought I was capable of, so I eventually end up feeling grateful. It can also be very tough when the knowledge you have isn’t part of the widely accepted narrative within the collective. It can certainly get quite lonely at times. But luckily, I have my angels and teams in spirit for support. And the more you drop your disguises and let your true self be seen, the more you attract genuine friendships and relationships who are true soul family.
Are you sometimes still in awe of what you receive and know, and of the insights and awareness you’ve developed?
I am in awe every single day of my life. I believe there is always something new to learn, and I hope I go on discovering the wonders of this vast and incredible multiverse. I would like to say “as long as I live,” but the soul is infinite, so that will be a very long time indeed.
Many people feel drawn to the Earth, sacred places, or nature without knowing why. How do you help people recognize if they’re already interacting with the Earth’s energy in this way?
There are many souls, like me, who chose to return to lives on Earth to assist in the planet’s ascension and evolution. Just as we have old programming and subconscious patterns that need clearing and resolving personally, so does Mother Earth.
If you are one of the souls who has chosen to return for the Earth, you will likely feel inextricably drawn to places and locations without always knowing why. Sometimes, you will have had a past life in that place and may need to retrieve a fragment or aspect of your own soul energy. This can sometimes awaken lost or forgotten gifts or reveal a past life trauma that needs your attention to heal and resolve so you can move forward.
Sometimes the Earth herself needs healing. There may be trapped souls in a location who died in a traumatic way, or perhaps the Earth experienced shock or trauma in the form of a natural disaster or similar and the energy needs re-balancing.
How I help people to understand their planetary service role is often to help them develop their own intuitive and psychic gifts, so they can more easily interpret the messages they are receiving and uncover their own tools for helping to heal Gaia.
This is always a symbiotic relationship. As we heal the Earth, we heal ourselves and the collective.
Do people need special psychic abilities, training, or spiritual backgrounds to work with the Earth’s energy — or is this something anyone can learn?
Intention is everything. If all you do is send love to the Earth and all life, then know you are already succeeding. I believe we are all psychic, we are all innate healers and we are all divine. Learning is really just remembering. So no, I do not believe you need any special training, but from my own experience it does help you to make sense of what you are doing and how you are doing it. Knowledge is power, and we are all learning from each other at all times, whether we realize it or not.
My work is for all levels, from beginners to the more spiritually advanced in terms of knowledge. Anyone who has a desire to help others and the Earth is who I am here to assist.
Can you share an example of how someone’s personal life shifted once they embraced their role as a planetary Lightkeeper?
I regularly take groups on retreats and run events in places like Egypt, Ibiza, Glastonbury, Turkey, and other sacred sites. To date, there has not been one person who hasn’t experienced a momentous shift in consciousness as a result.
When I teach the planetary Lightkeeper and grid worker programs, often people are called to travel during the course. I once had a woman who was called to a country in the Middle East by her guide team during the pandemic to help open up all the restrictions on the energetic planes. She joined our Zoom calls from there and managed to just make it out of the country before they announced another lockdown. She knew she was clearing restriction grids as she flew out. Incredibly, the lockdowns ended for good in that part of the world only a week later.
I want to be clear that I am in no way suggesting people put their safety or lives at risk by going on a mission to “save the world.” But part of this work is to teach discernment, so you know when you are following a true soul calling or when the ego is playing tricks. The days of martyrdom are done. Following the soul should always be done with a sense of wonder, joy, and trust. The universe will often provide a practical reason for travel if it is a necessary part of your path, such as a honeymoon, holiday or, in this woman’s case, to visit a poorly relative. You will never be asked to put your life or safety at risk for the sake of a mission. In fact, your protection will be increased during such times.
On a very recent retreat I was running, a woman who does incredible philanthropic global charity work was one of our attendees. She randomly met an influential person from the UN in the elevator of our hotel. They were subsequently able to arrange a meeting regarding future collaborations between their organizations to help children in war-torn regions.
When we follow the call of the soul and listen to what our heart has to say, it will always put us in the right place at the right time to be of the greatest service. And as we give, we also receive. It is a symbiotic relationship.
Why do you feel so many people are awakening to this work right now?
Osmosis, mainly. It’s often in the spaces between the words, in the liminal space, that the most profound shifts take place. I know from being a channel that it isn’t merely the words we speak, but the energy we transmit that has an effect on the people around us and our planet. If we transmit love, we help to spread love. If we transmit fear, we spread fear. This is why the news and media have been such powerful negative influences on the collective.
I feel a lot of people are now beginning to realize this and are turning away from negative influences on their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in order to return to a state of inner peace. When we, as a collective, are able to choose inner peace, outer peace will ensue.
But it takes time to change course or direction. In order for humanity to change, what is hidden needs to rise to the surface to be healed and transmuted. Sometimes we need to be really aware that something isn’t working so that we take the necessary action to fix it and change to a better way of living.
The divine is also assisting us. Waves of potent light in the form of solar flares and galactic rays are intensifying, hitting our energy fields and changing our DNA. We are literally taking in more light — again, this points to en-“light”-enment and shedding more light on our subconscious, so we can hold and process more information and knowledge.
In recent years, I have been working with a group consciousness called The World Angels. They are huge solar and energetic beings who are essentially the consciousness of the planets, stars, and other dimensions. They form a collective of ultra-terrestrial beings who are rooting for us to rejoin our multidimensional family of light.
We are moving from separation back into oneness, and the more we remember that we are all connected, the faster we will shift out of darkness and struggle and move into higher states of joy and bliss.
My teams always say: “The time has come. Remember who you are.”
And I feel that time is now.
